I have been playing with my Android based G1 for quite a while, and it keeps me amazed how it nicely opens new domains for software development.
Here is just one Android app that I have came across: Torque OBD 2 engine diagnostics. Ever since 1996 every car is equipped with OBD 2 port which can be used to get the service and diagnostic data about the car. It can also be used to obtain real time data like throttle position, speed, and many other parameters. There there are also many affordable Bluetooth adapters that can be plugged into OBD 2. And that is where Android and Torque come into play. Torque collects OBD data, combines it with read outs of Android sensors like acceleration, GPS, and displays it nicely. It can also send collected data to the web site for later analysis
