I have just watched live presentation of vmware's CloudFoundry, and I must say it was impressive.
CloudFoundry is open sourced Platform as a Service (PaaS). It is interesting that it offers same environment that can be deployed on your laptop, private server farm or public cloud like amazon's aws.
During the scalability demo, they have started 100 instances of app in just 8 seconds from a simple command line.
Also the line up of speakers seemed like developers who is who live.
I only hope that current set of frameworks can be easily extended from existing Spring, Ruby and node.js. It would be great to see Smalltalk and Seaside running on it. After all Gemstone is a VMWare company!
